Update on the insurance...
OK, two more bills have hit to the tune of $1400, so we're up to (drumroll) $11,663 for that 36 hours in the hospital. On the bright side so far it looks like my part is $2425.16 (gulp). At least he's less than $400 for his out of pocket maximum for the year. If anyone else gets really sick this year, it needs to be him!! (Did I just say that?!)
Seriously, $2400 is a small price to pay for a healthy child. I just wish I could have bargained a little (or used a coupon!!)

At least you have insurance & don't have to come up with the entire $11,663.
My Dad's appendix became infected & perforated last fall & without insurance the bills caused them to file for bankruptcy.
Thank goodness your boy is better now. :-)
